Multiprint makes another smart move ... |

An all-new Mark Andy Performance Series P5 UV flexographic press at Multiprint Labels is setting the tone for a bright future, writes Karen Stretch.
ACCORDING to Chris Bobbert, charismatic owner of Multiprint Labels, the label printing industry is undergoing constant change. Customers want jobs on demand; they want quality and service they can trust; and, to meet these tough challenges, converters’ technology has to be top class.
For Chris, this has translated into an investment in
the award-winning Mark Andy Performance Series P5
UV flexographic press and VPM-400 print-mounting
system, both supplied by Paul Bouwer of SArepco.
‘I’ve always been a Mark Andy fan,’ Chris comments.
‘When I started the business in 1990 my first press
was a small three-colour water-based Mark Andy
830. By 2000, when I was getting close to maximum
production capacity, I expanded with a 2200 eightcolour
UV press, which was something of a step up in
terms of speed and overall print competence.’
Two years ago, another Mark Andy 2200 eight-colour
combination UV and water-based press, with in-line

In it for the long haul
Between Amazon Masemola and Robert Mosate, they’ve clocked-up a grand total of 53 working years at Multiprint Labels.
IN an era five years at the same company is considered to be long-service, it’s reassuring to find two print industry employees, Robert Mosate and Amazon Masemola, who are celebrating 25 and 28 years respectively, with Multiprint Labels.
Robert joined the company on April 27, 1987 as a hotfoil operator, a position he has truly mastered over the last 25 years and now perfected on the latest Nufoil equipment.
‘The business has grown so much since I started at Multiprint Labels,’ comments Robert. ‘We were 12 people in a small premises in Rosettenville Rd, Village Main and the hotfoil machine was nothing compared to the equipment we have today,’ he adds.
A humble man with a wide smile, Robert has a large family that includes two sets of twins as well as three grandchildren. ‘Just like Job from the Bible, I’m blessed with so many kids!’ exclaims Robert.
His daily companion is Amazon Masemola, whose primary job role is operating the all-new RotoControl slitter/rewinder. Amazon has worked at Multiprint since 1989, when he was first required to operate a table-top rewinder. Now, he’s working one of the fastest machines in the business and as always, takes it in his stride.
‘Robert and Amazon are two of the most reliable employees I could wish for,’ remarks Chris Bobbert, owner and general manager of Multiprint Labels. ‘They both set a great example to the rest of the production team and, since I joined the business in 1989, Robert has been my right-hand man. He’s good natured and has a strong rapport with the staff, which enables him to represent them on company matters when required. I have the utmost respect for Robert and Amazon, they’re commitment and loyalty is unsurpassed,’ concludes Chris.
